Immigration to Angola
The Angolan work visa is for all foreign nationals who are assigned to work in Angola. The individual must apply for a work visa and this work visa allows them to stay in the country for up to 12 months. This work visa can be extended twice with multiple entries. Work visas are only valid for the professional activity defined in the work contract. Work visas are issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security.
The individual is allowed to take along their spouse and children (under separate applications).
Business travellers are eligible for the Tourist Visa and Short-Term Visa. These can be obtained at Angolan Consulate or Embassy prior to travel. Individuals are advised to obtain an individual assessment prior to travel to determine their eligibility for a visa waiver and to determine the applicable visa type. Business visas are valid for a maximum of 90 days.
The Residence Visa is granted to foreign citizens wishing to settle in Angola. Its validity is 60 days upon issuance. It allows for multiple entries and the length of authorised stay is 120 days. The residence visa is renewable for equal periods of time until the final decision of their application for a residence permit.
