Immigration in Mozambique

Work Permit

A work permit is issued to foreign nationals who are offered employment opportunity in Mozambique. To be eligible for a work permit, foreign nationals will need to obtain authorisation from Mozambique’s Ministry of Labour. They are also required to have a confirmed job offer in hand before making the application.

Work permits are renewable and valid for two years.

Business Visa

A business visa is issued to a foreign national whose purpose of entry is business-related and is valid for a maximum of 90 days. A letter from the applicant’s company or the inviting company in Mozambique is required.

Approval and renewal are decided by the Department of Labour.

Residence Permit

The Residence Visa is issued for a single entry; the applicant must remain in the country for thirty (30) days, which may be extended up to sixty (60) days. Within this period, the holder of this type of visa must apply for a Residence Permit at the Immigration Services in Mozambique.

Residence Permits are issued to foreign nationals who want to stay in Mozambique for more than 90 days. This permit can be renewed annually.
