Overview
Seychelles is an island republic in the western Indian Ocean, off East Africa with approximately 115 islands. Seychelles is the second-smallest country with an area of 455 sq km (176 sq mi). The current population of Seychelles 98 555.
There are three official languages in Seychelles: Creole, English, and French. The primary languages spoken by the Seychellois population is their own Creole variant – which a mix of Swahili and Malagasy and French. The official currency in Seychelles is the Seychelles Rupee.
Known for its beautiful blue seawater and exotic life, the climate in Seychelles is tropical: warm and humid throughout the year. From November to March, it is the rainy and muggy season – where the northwest winds blow. June to September is a dry and slightly cooler season. From December to March, it gets extremely wet.
