Immigration to Zimbabwe

Business Visa

A Business Visa is issued to foreign nationals who are traveling to Zimbabwe for business related purposes. The Business Visa is granted for a period of 30 days and the visa is non-renewable.

Conferencing Visa

A Conference Visa is issued to foreign nationals who are travelling to Zimbabwe for purposes of attending a Conference, Seminar or Workshop. The Conferencing Visa is granted for a period of 30 days and the visa is non-renewable.

Work Visa

The visa requirements for a work permit in Zimbabwe can vary from one embassy to the next. For a temporary work permit, applicants need to provide a job offer from a company in Zimbabwe, proof of qualifications and prior work experience. The applicant will also be asked for a certificate of vaccination against yellow fever.

The Zimbabwean immigration system combines the application for a temporary employment permit with the one for a residence permit. The employer is responsible for initiating the application process for these permits on behalf of any foreign employees.

Residence Permit

There are two residence permits: a) Residence Permit for Dependants b) Residence Permit for Investors.

The Residence Permit for Investors: Permit may be issued to a person who possesses substantial financial means and is prepared to invest in Zimbabwe without engaging in any occupation.

The Residence Permit for Dependants is issued to a person below eighteen years or retired person not seeking employment but coming to live with close relatives who are permanently resident in Zimbabwe.
