Mos Def to depart from SA
PRETORIA – The Department of Home Affairs said US musician and actor Dante Terrell Smith, aka Mos Def/Yasiin Bey would depart from South Africa on Tuesday.
Home Affairs Director General Mkuseli Apleni said charges against Mos Def would be withdrawn.
The singer will be declared an undesirable person and he won’t qualify for a port of entry visa or admission to South Africa.
He was arrested in January and charged with contravening South Africa’s immigration laws after he tried to leave Cape Town using an unrecognised “world passport”.
